Nursery

Introduction

Nursery class are taught by Miss Muldowney, supported by Mrs Herdman, Miss Harle and Mrs Downing.

Our Nursery provides a stimulating, fun and secure environment which allows children to flourish by learning through play. They will develop a love of learning and gain a strong foundation for starting school.

Our classroom and outdoor space aims to provide the best learning experience for all our children, whatever their needs may be. We pride ourselves on understanding how children grow, develop and learn effectively. We will provide creative, engaging, hands-on activities that foster resilience and a ‘can do’ attitude both indoors and outdoors.

Curriculum

We are committed to ensuring that our pupils are given the very best start to life, through educational excellence, to ensure we unlock the potential in every child.  By prioritising our work in the early years we ensure a strong foundation for every child’s future well-being and success.

Our school has a highly ambitious curriculum which ensures that children are given the most important building blocks needed to ready them for education at KS1 and beyond. These cover all areas of learning and prioritise the important prime areas of development: personal, social and emotional development; communication and language; physical development.

For further information on the topics covered each term, please see our Nursery Curriculum Overview. Please also see the nursery guidance on ‘Little Wandle’ – the phonics and reading programme used in our school providing the foundations of a love of reading, language and phonics
